Default cam specs: need help

ok i jus recently bought a reed performance cam/ lifter set. i've called the manufacturer of the cam and the only info they can give me is a cam card. i'm looking to know whats the minimum compression ratio, stall, gears, etc i can run to recieve good performance out of this cam.

cam card:
Serial # K8477

Engine application :SBC

Grind number : SRA290/294-8A3

Adv. duration intake : 290 Adv. Duration exhaust:294

duration @ .050 intake :256 duration @ 050 EX. :260

Valve lift intake :.660 Valve lift exhaust :.663

Lobe separation : 108 Intake centerline102

Lash setting intake : .020 exhaust :.024 Timing events @ .020

Int. valve opens :43

Int. valve closes :67

Ex. Valve opens :81

Ex. Valve closes :33

Spring pressures closed 225 OPEN 550+

RPM RANGE: 3500-7200

can anyone on here be of any help?

i was gonna call comp cams and read off the card to them but i'd rather not bother them w/ the competition's problem of not having a tech w/ common knowledge of the product

I would use 10.5-11.0 to 1 compression or higher, 34-3600 convertor, minimum of 3.73s.... Is that a solid lift cam??? your open seat pressure looks high to me, may be wrong, been a while since messing with SBC parts.

that is a solid lifter cam for sure. For a 350 you'll be turning every bit of 7500 if your heads will support it. That would work better in the 400 in your sig. Either way, I would start looking at 11.5:1 compression and go up.

You'll want 4.56 gears and a 4500 stall converter.

yes it is a solid lift cam. i was gonna put it in my 357sbc but i've decided to use it in the 427 sbc stroker that i'm also doing since its a small base circle cam

4.56 gears and a 4500 stall is way more than i was expecting. the guy at reed says he ''THINKS'' i can run a 3500 and 4.10's but he doesn't know for sure.

also does anyone know an estimate of what size shot that cam could hold and what shot would wake it up the most. he told me it was a n2o cam but i'm not very familiar wit a 108 lsa f.i. camshaft. i've been more exposed to 100-114 lsa for n2o, s.c., and turbos

I was thinking that with a 350. The 427 should be able to handle less converter and gear.

I would say that the size of nitrous shot that you'll be able to handle depends more on your pistons and rings than your camshaft.

most likely gonna go w/ a set of AFR heads, seeing that in recent studies they've been the best flowing heads out there. looking into 210cc intake runners maybe just a bit bigger. i wanna make sure i have enough air flow as not to smother the cam.
