1-2 rwhp isn't noticeable, nor does it make a difference. just because you're stuck with a '01 z06 cam and you wanna sell it doesn't mean you have to be like a used care salesman in every thread that pops up with someone asking about a z06 cam

regarding the pushrods: he needs hardened pushrods no matter what. no need to worry about stock rods working with a '01 cam.

IMO, with the '01 the longer intake duration would benefit from being boosted, if that's the route you're going.

The specs on the 02-03 ls6 cam are quite a bit more agressive. I would definitely say there will be more than a 1-2 rwhp difference.

NO, he doesn't HAVE to have pushrods, but they are strongly recomended. There are plenty of guys who run stock pushrods and even some guys run stock length pushrods with the 02-03 ls6 cam.

The 01 ls6 cam should make power lower in the powerband but not as much up top whereas the 02-03 should make more power, but later in the powerband.

Yea but if you run stock pushrods on a 02+ ls6 cam then you will be depriving your self of lift. 02+ Ls6 cam is 19mm base circle and regular gm genIII engines have a 19.7mm cam base circle. .7mm = .028 so if you use stock pushrods or 7.400 pushrods your lift will only be .523/.519 compared to .551/.547. You will basically be down grading you cam to an 01 cam. You need to buy 7.425 pushrods if you want to take full advantage of your cam.

thats not how it works. the lifters have something like .100 of self adjustment built into them. you will go from the center of that space to the edge but it will still be within the .100. you will get full lift but being on the edge of the lifter specs might cause other issues that i dont know about.

Parish, how much HP did you gain when you changed the stock 5.3 cam for the LS6 cam?
