Yea they should be able to add lift and duration to it. I know there is a place in the dfw area that does it cause I have heard of them doing big truck cams with missing lobes. If it will hold up to as much pressure as they see and as long as there engines run should be fine.

There is nothing wrong with re-ground cams, as long as they are done properly. Sometimes finding cams for exotics or even a lot of motorcycles that are not main-stream can be impossible, so a re-grind is all that's available.

That being said, I would not consider the cams for the LS series of motors being hard to find and would suggest to just buying new. (Does Walmart sell them yet?........LOL) They are not nearly as expensive as compared to what damage can be caused by a failed camshaft or even the pain of down time.

Regrinds are ok as long as they are done with care. I can't believe how much these company overcharge for a new Cam. While I cant speak for or represent any company on average a regrind runs around $75-$100 depending on the cam and were your located. But if you know the right people you can get a new cam for these LS engines ground to any spec for $250

I found this guy on ebay and on craigslist. I did some research and have been contemplating buying of his cams also.

He's got really good feedback on ebay.
