Default Cam Reccomendation For Frnds Avalanche 5.3?

Hes thinkin about street/strip? But he doesnt want to touch his stock heads (unless its Springs and rods) what cam do you guys reccomend?

if I was him I would run something in the 210/216ish range.... in your thread down from this one, you guys like the sleeper approach so make sure to go with the higher LSA like you did with your cam
anything over .550 or so lift is useless on stock heads, you dont gain much at all after that

so a 220/220 .581/.581 with a 112 LSA isnt good with stock heads? since he really doesnt care about his approach he wants a choppy idle.

It is a great cam, but inside of a 4200 pound single cab short bed silverado not a 5500 pound avalanche. That thing is going to be a pig down low unless you run 4.10+ gears and a 3600 converter.

Isnt there a cam that works good on a avalanche without any gear or head work? like the 220 on the silverado.

yes a 210/216 like that guy before me recommended, and a 220 split duration cam is going to need gear and a converter no matter what kind of silverado it is.

my truck is 5350 with me in it and the TR220/112 gained low end over stock with stock stall....

Ok well thats for the duration should he really not go over .550 lift?

you can run .700 lift if u want....just harder on valve train and wont gain u anything that a .520 lift wouldnt
