Default Cam question

Hey, i am thinking about getting a cam for my 5.3 but have know idea what to get, i dont know much of anything about cams.
I am wanting one that gives me low end torque to get the truck going but with good mid and hi rpm power.

I want a noticible lop on it..

And do i have to get the computer reprogrammed after i install the cam. I know it would give me more power but can it wait?

Thanks for the help

The cam i would suggest to you is the 212/218 114 comp cam if you want a bit of low end. Im pretty sure you dont "need" a tune with this one but i would highly recommend one for idling. The only problem with this cam is it will sound pretty much stock.

you could call comp cams and get them or even somone else to custom grind you hat cam with a 112 LSA for that lope but the lower your LSA, the less stock you'll sound, and the more low-end you will sacrifice for it.
