Prybar for removal, and torch for installation, then prybar to torque.

is that going to be enough torque by just using an impact gun. your suspost to torque it to 37LBs then rotate 140degrees

I doubt an impact gun can do this. I put a long wrench around one of my converter feet and got it to wedge up against one of my headers, then went to town with a 2' breaker bar, all my weight and strength into it and I still couldn't get it 140*. Got close though, and I have my crank pinned so I'm not too worried about it. That thing is a bitch though!!

BTW, I have a 4L80E, not sure if you can do the same with the 60. With the 80 there is a converter cover that comes off and gives you access to the entire lower half of the converter.

The 4L60E is a one-piece bellhousing, so you don't have a cover. You might be able to squeeze a wrench into the starter hole and get it that way.

I use a plumber chain wrench around the pulley itself. Don't have to worry about the torque converter that way.

if you have a good 3/4 impact gun it will take it right off.
