You won't have a 400+ HP 5.3 that will make a good DD. If you want a 400HP+ DD you need to either get a supercharger or go for a 6.0 or bigger.

Forced induction is one way to get good power and still be a good daily driver. Nitrous is good for on demand without adding much to the engine at all.

Yeah if your lucky you MIGHT get 400hp at the crank. Some guys on here have gotten 340-350 RWHP and 340-350 RWTQ with a TR 220/220 cam or similar with LT headers and a decent upgraded stall with custom tune and that was on a dynojet dyno though that does inflate the numbers a little.

On a 5.3L with a cam I'm talking about with LT headers and a decent stall with tune you are looking at a good 325rwhp / 325rwtq.

212-218 low lift will add around 30hp and still be a good daily driver. I have a 6.0L, long tubes, cam and maggie 112 and make 420 at the wheels on a mustang dyno.

That is a pretty big cam for a 5.3. And you would also need a converter for that big of one. As far as 400-450 hp, not gonna happen without some boost. You might wanna stick with the tr220, but still really need a converter for that cam as well.

Yeah thanks been doing tons of research and I pretty much know what these 5.3's do with basic cam swap.

Hopefully I get around 325rwhp on my setup when I install it.
