cam/headers on 01' 5.3
getting ready to do a cam/header swap on a buddys 01 sierra with a 5.3. so far we have came up with this set up.
tsp 224XE cam. its a 224 duration and like .566 lift. with 918 springs, 7.4" pushrods and ls2 timing chain.
also going with pacesetter coated long tubes.
i have a few questions
1. Should he keep his stock intake/Tb or upgrade to a LS6 intake and TB?
2. Would we have to make any modifications for the LS6 intake/TB to work if he did go with them?
3. what ratio are the stock rockers on the 5.3? i seem to think they are a 1.5:1. would it be a good idea to upgrade to stock ls1 rockers?
4. looking at going with a 2600rpm stall? any suggestions on brands or anything?
any other suggestions for this would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot.

I just finished doing the same thing you guys are going to do on my 08 truck. The only exception is I went with the higher lift 224 cam. If you want it to thump at idle get the 112 LSA not the 114. The Yank SSTB 4000 in my truck turned out to be 94% efficient on the dyno, only lost 20hp locked vs unlocked. Pretty efficient for a 4000 stall with a 2.6 STR and the truck runs really good now. My HP and TQ numbers are in my sig. Good luck!!!
