If you're wanting to hit 14's and have some good towing capabilities a smaller cam (comp 216/218) would suit you well. Just a cam/tune/built trans will get you where you want to be it seems.

All mods in my signature were done before the Radix install and it did everything your looking to do very well. Yank 2600 stall TC and Comp. cam made this a fun truck that is also used to pull the family camper for all vacations(5k lbs.). My last mod was the Radix install and that was just to take it up another notch. All previous mods were chosen with an eye on the future for eventual FI. without sacrificing towing capabilities.

You might see 20~30 rwhp gain with just a good tune vs. stock tune. Tune plus cam may gain 40~50 rwhp. I drove my 212/216 cam with a stock stall for a year
including towing and it ran fine.
