A single pattern 226 duration cam is pretty large for a 4.8; probably too large for most practical purposes. Yes it will work but performance wouldn't be optimal; I'd look into a custom grind cam personally.

I have a 224 in mine, and I wish I would have gotten the 220..... It will be plenty, and you need to remember bigger isnt always better!!!

220/222 if you want to go big... do it on a 112 and run a 36-3800 converter. I'd go even smaller though if it were me.

I would suggest a 212/218 112lsa or 216/220 112lsa, but a custom grind of course... should be a nice cam for a 4.8

I just want as much as I can get outta it. Might want some other Ideas. Dont plan on bein the fastest. But want people to be like damn!!

Vinci "Trucker" cam 216/224 .551 115 lsa. I've always wanted to see what that cam would do in a 4.8. It's made some good numbers in 5.3's.

i think with that cam you will be leaving alot of power on the table and slow down in the 1/4 mile and pick up on the highway from a 60 roll

bigger is not always better

218 220 580 575 112 cam and 3400 stall would be just right for ya with all bolt-ons as well. good luck.

That would be a good cam, I should have gone bigger but it was my DD at the time.
