is it worth installing zo6 cam into 5.3 rcsb dd? has any one done this swap? if so what else internally do i need to change springs, pushrods, etc. and will the stock converter be fine? and will it run till i can get it tuned?

worth installing in 5.3 DD? will give decent gains, some will argue that if you are going to take the time to swap cams, go bigger
has anyone done this swap? some have but i cant remember any offhand
any other internals to change? get some LS6 springs and maybe some pushrods.
stock converter? yes stock converter will be fine but as always will benefit from a small stall.
will it run unitl tuned? yes
btw, this is a great small turbo cam from what i hear

i'm in the middle of putting this cam in my truck. all i needed was the cam and the ls6 springs. i got the cam in today in the afternoon and will get the springs on tomorrow. i'll let you know the results once i'm finished. i've heard that this is a good cam for all motor applications, and it's supposed to work even better with nitrous, which is my main goal

If you are installing it yourself, can get the cam for cheap, and are on a budget, go for it. Decent gains with a custom tune.
If you have a couple hundred extra to spend or you are paying someone to install, your best bet is to pass on the Z06 cam. You can pick up a much better dd cam that will make more power throughout the rpm range.
If you want to keep the stock converter a nice dd cam would be a comp 212/218 highlift version on a 112 or 114.
You will gain more power through the rpm range than the Z06 and would hardly suffer anything down low in that rcsb you got. Also, with this cam you will want to pick up some 918 springs and 7.4 hardened pushrods.

COMP CAMS 265 XTREME RPM LS1/LS6 CAMSHAFT #54-412-11
opinions on this cam also welcome as i am still undecided and am curious how much better the gains would be steping up to this one from the zo6.

No, it is the XTREME RPM HIGH XR265HR #54-424-11 not the XTREME RPM. The XTREME RPM HIGH has more lift is the only difference. The only thing I would change is get it on a 112 or 114 not a 115 to bring that powerband down some for a stock converter. 112 if you want a little more down low, 114 a little more up top. This cam would definitly put a reg cab into the 13s stock converter with a custom tune and full exhaust.
