cam in a 03 5.3???

Default cam in a 03 5.3???

ok guys i have a sleeper GM performance cam out of a vett the specs are
.550 lift 218 intake and 204 exhaust with a 117.5 lsa i want to put this in my silverdo 5.3. I have done cams in nurmous cars but this is my first truck, my big question is about the push rods will i need to shorten them? Oh i already have the springs thanks

It depends on the base circle size of the cam.

i will get back on the gm site and see if i can find it i will be out of town for the next 2 days. what kind of power do you guys think i will get out of this cam with a tune

I got the TSP 224R cam and it uses stock length pushrods! That cam should be the same as well!

i have the same cam, i will be using stock length pushrods when i get the info on how to install it and some free time

sweet that cam swap is about as easy as it gets. i have done a few ls1 camaros this should be a cake walk compared to the cars

Thats an LS6 cam. The LS6 runs heads with longer hollow stem valves due to the .550 lift that cam has. You should be running 7.425 pushrods to accomadate for the smaller base circle of that cam since you'll be running heads with shorter valves.
