Where are you?

You dont have to do timing chain and oil pump, or even hardened pushrods depending on how aggresive your cam is and how high you want to spin it. Although all of those are good upgrades, they arent mandatory. You need the cam and springs for sure, but you may even be able to reuse your stock gaskets.

great answer. Im located in NC/SC boarder. Pretty much can drive anywhere in those states. That was exactly what I was trying to find out. Im going to do the chain as its chap. Going to be looking for some springs, and hardened pushrods.

The cam is a Voodoo 217/233 on a 113 with .54 lift. What all do you think will support this cam?

If you are on a budget why not just use LS6 springs?

I would save up and do it right unless you are NEEDING to do this right away. IMO.

If you are going to do the chain you may as well do the pump as well. Both require removing the pump from the crank, and that is where the majority of guys make mistakes and dont have everything perfect. So if you do it, only do it once and knock out both at the same time.

i mean all the parts on the list is needed then

PAC Single Beehive Valve Springs good to .600 lift: $149.99
Set of Hardened Pushrods: $99.99
LS2 Timing Chain: $37.99
Ported/Blueprinted LS6 oil pump: $139.99
Complete Camswap Gasket Kit: $49.99

Im not going to get the driveshaft right now. So with my cam that totals 864$ the shops labor is 880$ So the cost to do my cam swap professional is 1728$ hmmm. For what its worth I can do a 6.2 swap. lol

Shop labor is expensive but they are in business to make money. If you are in business and work for free you won't be around long. The overhead involved with owning your own shop is more than you think.
