Overlap = lope/chop

LSA = some chop but moves the power in earlier.

Take for instance, my new cam, has 11.5 degrees of overlap and lopes really good. It's on a 110lsa

My prior cam, had -1 degree of overlap, had a little chop but was on a 115lsa and would pull to the moon.

I'm realistic and I think the 110lsa cam will better suit me for DD.

for daily i would recommend the Stage 2 and it will have a slight chop to it. ive had it in my 5.3 and now in my 6.0 and its a torque cam for sure, and it pulls good up top.

The 110lsa is intriguing, I am thinking about running a 2800 stall converter from a Trail Blazer. Would you say the BTR Stage 2 or 3 versus the 110lsa for driveability, performance, and price. My truck is a mostly stock, as in 245/75R16 tires with lighter wheels than stock. I'm going to get long tubes and a cold air intake in the future.

For a 5.3l daily we would recommend the TSP STG3 high lift cam. Cut it on a 111 amd youll have a nice lope at idle. That's the largest youre gonna get without losing the bottom end and starting to need a stall. The higher lift promotes more power and extends the powerband with no drawbacks! Super quiet lobes and easy on the valvetrain. Use a pac1218 and get the whole kit with springs pushrods and cam for $575.
If you are looking at lifters, our prices cant be beat on lifters and install kits.
Let me know if you wanna go that way!

btr stage 3, with a stall, and some 4.10 gears, if stock 212/218 cam for sure.

RPMSpeed Tech, that sounds like quite a good deal. I was concerned about buying a cam, springs, and pushrods only to see they don't work with each other. How do you think the lope would be with long tubes and open Y-pipe? Also, any estimation on the power and torque gains I would see?

lope will depend on tune really. allow more timing difference itll lope more. itll have a nice rolling lope
Here is a link to cam and dyno graph.

I couldn't really hear how it sounded in the dyno although I like how the numbers look. I was thinking around 450 hp would be adequate and pull pretty good. I like where the torque is but I'll probably mess with the tune to make the throttle response quicker.

Dont get caught up on the lsa of diff cams for choppiness. Its all in the tuning. Like i said before i can make a 114 chop hard. A 111 will be a serious chop.

Intentionally making the timing low at idle doesnt help with smell or efficiency though or making the idle rpm intentionally low.
Usually 4* of negative overlap is about the limit on a lopey idle unless you have full exhaust which acts like a tuning fork then. Our high lift hot cam is on a 112 lsa and has -1* of overlap and it sounds pretty good in an ls1. (
) Put it in a 5.3l it would sound more aggressive at idle and be pretty close to what you would want in an all around truck cam. Early power with strong torque.
