Post BTR Stage 4 truck cam 5.3l vortec

For those who have or has any knowledge on a stage 4 BTR truck cam on a 99-06 5.3L. Whats the rwhp gain? is there anything to be changed to a stock 4L60e or the 5.3l? Would you recomend it? I wanted to ask becuase so far some people give really good reviews on it and the cam itself is strong and choppy, i would appreciate your reviews and recomendations.
Thank you in advance

With a good tune, 40-50hp wouldn't be out of the question.

However, that cam is a 224/230 @ 111LSA and it's choppy.

There is a good chance that driveability is going to suffer from the stock torque converter.

When I had my 5.3 and OEM 60e, I put a cam in it and a Corvette servo setup in it and drove it for about 40k before the trans let go.

with a cam that size id do 3200 stall for sure. although i see a lot of people running that cam, yet a lot of people say a cam that size is too big for a 5.3.

Im running a comp cam 225/230 112lsa which according to people at BTR is same as their stage 4. I have it in a 6.0l though with a yank 3000, no problems so far.

Was going to go with this one during my most recent motor refresh but went with a TSP 233/239 112lsa in my stroker with a Circle D triple disc 3200 and its a nasty DD...I like it 😎

I installed a 224/230 114 in my cousin Silverado 5.3 with my tuning. Truck Drives great and for a 114 lsa it chops like hell. Sounds Very Aggressive at idle!

What head work would need to be done if I were to swap the BTR Stage 4 into a stock 5.3 ls in a 2001 Silverado?

Like machine work?

Should be none.

Just new lifters, push rods, new valve springs.

Though I do not recommend that cam in a stock 5.3 with nothing else. Use a cam better suited for a stock application. Something smaller in the 210-212/218-220 range that works with a stock converter.

Ok, that is what I had thought, I am leaning more towards the BTR Stage 3 since it is a daily. Would you have any cam suggestions that would make similar power figures with a more streetable setup? Personally would prefer quite a bit of lope so maybe something with a little less overlap than the BTR Stage 4? Should be mentioned I am not the best mechanic as I'm still learning.
