Default A bit of interesting news

I was talking to my bud from N.C. and he was at his engine builders shop on friday and was inforomed that the new 2008 heads off a tahoe will flow damn close to 360 cfm with head work that is not all the serious. I was wondering if anyone else had head this or anything like it

He is probably talking about the L92 head.

i am sure he was told that they came of the 5.3 in the 2008 tahoe

it sounds like it would be a good investment for power gains i am going to see if he can find anything else out i would be interested in a set of those

Here is info from a post on the CorvetteForum.

" 243 vs. 799 heads talked to GM research tonight.

I just talked to Bob (Gohard777) and Mr. X. There is no difference between the two heads. The numbers tell what original mold the casting came from. 243 mold was done at GM Research, the 799 mold is used by other vendors. The same vendor will have 243 and 799 molds. The numbers are just a GM system for when the mold was made. If a head had a problem it helps them track down where the problem started. The only difference between the heads is production variance. Case closed. Thanks to Bob and Mr. X. Mr. X machined the first 243 heads himself at GM Research.
