Default before i turn into a stand is this salvageable

have had this block for months and never noticed that piece of the lifters bore was broken off. my question is can this broken piece be built back up and either honed or re-sleeved to save this engine. block is and aluminum 6.2L this is the only defect on the block, i have heard of it being done but not sure on this one being that is is a clean break

After zooming in id be more worried about the grooves in the bore surface than the broken piece. Lifter bores can be sleeved im pretty sure by a competent machine shop.

i was worried about that also but if i can resleeve then a shop can do something with that groove its not all the way just the section you see and top of bore

As I mentioned on the tech side. They should be able to weld it up and worse case they could bush the bore if needed.

The 4.8 is a very stout engine that can take a lot of abuse. The 4.8 is not a "worst case" option
