My King bearings I put in said they were made in Isreal. The clevite p series bearings I pulled out of my old motor looked just fine. I use clevite p and h series in my dirt track motors depending on crankshaft. Never had an issue and they live at 5500-7500 rpm..

Switched up to these per stock48. Got a great deal on the clevite ones if anybody is diehard clevite folk. package never opened.
Stock48 said to steer clear of the P series which is a bi-metal bearing. The bearings you swtiched to are bi metal bearings. Shouldn't you keep tri metal bearings if you are taking stock48s advice?

He suggested those part numbers specifically. I think they are most like the stock GM bearings. He has way more experience building than me so I went with what he suggested. I can show you 10 people that will swear by every company out there.

Bumping this thread up for further discussion....

I didn't see ACL mentioned here. Anyone have opinions on them? The engine I am currently rebuilding had ACL main and rod bearings in it. Rods looked perfect, mains had a good bit of wear down to the copper in spots. I will be using a stock crank that will be re-polished; so what I gather from this thread is to look into the King or Sealed Power bearings?
