Anyone make DI Heads?

Spoolin, I've been thinking about this for a while now. I haven't heard of anyone doing this yet, but it would be quite awesome. I've been drawing up some ideas about incorporating ideas I've seen around for infinitely variable valve actuation technologies to incorporate in with a DI head that would bolt on to a LS based short block. I think if someone ever made it to production with a retrofit kit they'd do well to start it with a design compatible with the smallest bore size 3.78", then offer different valve / combustion chamber sizes after they got the 5.3 market to help pay for R&D cost.
Adding a custom tuned DI head with close to infinitely variable valve timing could have huge potential on a 5.3 I think. It would require a new/piggyback ECU (to control valve events/ DI high pressure pump, and injection timing) to integrate with the stock ECU, but then you could probably set it up to be tested and have a CARB certificate.

I've done limited research on it and have yet to come up with anything. GM is starting to produce DI engines but as of now only in the smaller engines. I'm building a motor that will be N/A for now and eventually it will see boost, but I don't want to be limited in my compression ratio.
I haven't even heard a peep out of the big head companies either about designing a DI head so...
