In a 6.0L that cam is probably a beast. It's very similar to the cam I spec'd out for clemsondave's 370.

As for the LSA, anyone who is proficient in tuning can make a smooth idle out of even the roughest of camshafts. I wouldn't worry about 108 vs 110 vs xxx....vs yyy. Match the valve events to the goals intended and let the tune figure out the rest.

Yea, those specs look great for a dd LQ9 that utilizes the factory verter

OK- to beat this one more time; a tighter LSA causes both valves to be open longer(overlap), but also extends the time they are both closed thus yeilding greater cylinder pressure...........

Pulls very good down low.

But I have a lot more weight to move than you.I'd like to go with a 2500 Converter to really wake it up.Seems to pull hard all the way to 5600 RPM.
I also have the 1.75" long tube headers that helps. When the weather gets better here,I'm gonna run it on the dyno for some numbers.Ran 250HP/275 tq with the stock 5.3L.

I decided to put $$$ in a 6.0L instead.Changed the engines in a day.resold the 5.3L.

Same fuel mileage.More enjoyable driving in it now.....

A tighter LSA puts the lobes closer together, so the time that the exhaust and intake valves are open at the same time will be longer. Duration is what holds the valves open longer. The combination of duration and lsa determine overlap.

Thats what i am thinking about now, cammed 6l. What kind of mileage are you getting. I know the 6l will get respectable mileage in the 1/2tons.

Sorry to threadjack but how about some opinions on the Vinci cam for my sometimes DD truck - 2002 Avalanche with 5.3, 4.10s, and weighs about 6K lbs? My performance mods are: 112 Magnacharger with 3.25" pulley, TOG headers, Gibson dual Extreme exhaust, FAL's, 2600 stall. I do some towing so would be looking to not lose the lower end but also to extend the upper rpm range to around 6K. I'm more interested in mid-range & up torque without losing good idle/driving manners and not hurting gas mileage too much more than it already is. I have to pass emissions also.
