any suggestions as to "how"?

If I tack that nut onto the stud, it's only coming out one way. What about welding a larger bolt to the bottom side and running it out the bottom?

EDIT: and are you basing your reply on a matter of opinion? I, by far, am the last person to half *** anything, but I know how difficult this thing was to get out and in...that concerns me when even thinking about removing it....I'm afraid I may end up worse off than I am now...

Has anybody ever had this happen??

I think it will be okay as is. If not it should come out pretty easy so long as you broke it by over torquing and not cross threading it. Support the engine with a jack. Remove the engine mount from the frame and from the engine. Put a bolt extractor on it, heck even clamping down on it with set of good vise grips might get it ou.

Thanks for the suggestion...I just noticed yesterday the mount could be removed. The bolt was hand started the first few threads, so I doubt it's cross threaded.

How hard do you think it will be to remove the mount with the engine still sitting there? Have you ever done it?

I haven't removed a broken bolt in the mount. Have replaced an engine. With the mount out of the way and working from the bottom side it shouldn't be to hard to get it out. You may be able to get a set of vice grips on it without removing anything since you got a nut on it. This would screw up the threads though and you wouldn't be able to thread them again. Maybe screw a nut on it, have it welded then remove it with the nut?

Right now the engine is installed and running, so would removing that lower motor mount piece(that contains the broken bolt) be possible? If I can unbolt the mount from the engine, unbolt the lower mount from the frame and replace the lower mount and install new bolts and reinstall the two pieces, that's what I will do. But I'm not sure if you can get that whole thing out with the engine in place

Not saying it will be easy I would support the engine with a jack. From the bottom side get the upper mount out. 3 bolts to the engine, 3(your case 2) bolts from the lower mount and get the upper mount out of the way. Might have to jack the engine up just a tad. I would then try and get the bolt out of the lower mount with a pair of pliers or something, it should not be locked in there. Just awkward and slow coming out. If I couldn't get it out then I would pull the lower mount loose from the frame and tackle it or get a new lower mount.

I hope there's enough room to do all of that, I may have to pull the header and steering shaft, but that's better than pulling the engine again
