Default advice and tips on exhaust please!

alright, i got a 96 GMC with the vortec 350. as of right now i got the flowmaster 40 series dual in dual out. i basically want my truck to sound like a camaro or a vette or a stang. i just want that deep bloodboiling sound that scares the life out of people. my flowmaster just doesn't cut it. i was thinking of buying a slp loudmouth setup for a z28 and just cutting it and makign it fit on my truck and get dummy sensors. if anyone has any advice or anything on how to achieve this, let me know. thanks in advance

You didnt specify whether or not you still have your catalytic converters. If you do still have them, cutting them off or gutting them will definitely make your ride sound meaner. Personally, I have a true dual setup on my '01, and I will be upgrading to 3" pipe instead of 2½ inch soon. If you go true dual, a crossover or "x" pipe usually makes the sound much deeper, or it did to my old truck anyway. The way you have it now tho, just cutting the cats if they're still there would make a world of difference. That dual in dual out muffler is a muffler with a crossover pipe, so to speak. If your cats are gone and it's still not loud and deep enough for you, flowmaster makes a muffler called Delta Force, which is just a single chamber race muffler. All they have in them is just the little "v" baffle and nothing else. Pretty damn loud to say the least. You could try going true dual with a pair of those and a crossover pipe. Also, the bigger the exhaust tubing you use, the deeper it will sound. Hope I've been of some help.

I have an 03 ECSB with 2 1/2'' duals (magnaflows ), and added a set of QTEC's (quick time electric cutouts). You would definitely get the sound you want I dont know what I would do without mine.
