Default About to take the plunge

Heres the build I'm contemplating (waiting on the tax refund, it'll be awhile):

Texas-Speed 224R (224/224 .581/.581 116 lsa)
Comp 918 springs
Hardned pushrods
Both Sonnax servos
Yank TT2600

I'm shooting for the 13's all motor with the possiblity of adding a 75hp wet plate N2O setup from Harris. What do you guys think? Is this realistic?

P.S. the reason for the low tc is to save my tranny and rearend, I'll get a higher stall when the rest of my drivetrain can handle it.

is this going into a 5.3L? if so, that converter isn't going to be enough for that 224 cam. i'd step up to at least the TT3000.

EDIT: nevermind, i read the last sentence of your post. haha

I'm Really between the 224 or the 220 cam. I'm thinking the converter is an easier change than the cam. So I know the 224 is as large as I would ever want.

I think 13s is going to be hard, but on a good, cool, day, possibly attainable.

YOu gonna run street tires or slicks?

And you need some longtubes, or are the edelbrock ones you have longtubes?? If so, I didn't think edelbrock made LTs for our trucks.

The edlebrocks are shortys. I need to get long tubes, just haven't decided which ones. There's some either hookers or hedman's that I like.

For getting into the 13's its going to take as you said perfect weather and slicks, although as of yet I don't know which size. I'll have to wait till this is running and go from there. At least with the spray 13's should be doable.

I ment to add it'll also get a nelson tune. I do my tuning now but I think the cam will be beyond my skills.

I'm starting to think maybe the 220 on a 116 lsa installed a few degrees (2-4)advanced should be about what I'm looking for. The wide lsa should help it idle smooth and move the powerband down a little, at the expense of top end. Then the advance should bring the powerband down as well. Hopefully this will be liveable with the stock for awhile till I can figure out exactly what stall I need.

Please correct me if I'm way off.

I'm fixing to cam down from a comp 224/224 to either a 212/218,216/220, or maybe a 220/220. 224/224 is too hard to tune well and I'd probably get as much out of of a 220/220 and have fewer problems with it idling.
