Wouldn't a traditional split dur. like he is looking at be better for a more restrictive, stock type exhaust? (stock manifolds, aftermarket catback). You mentioned a rev. split I thought those were better for forced induction.

I will be upgrading to longtubes and an ebay cai.

I'm gonna be doing pacesetters w/ ory, aerochamber muffler on my JBA catback 3", and the ebay intake. Gonna rebuild a used 4l60e and get the tb converter.

even with the LT's his exhaust is ok. But with the restrictive intake the reverse split will work well, not the CAI, the actual intake truck intake.

THe 210/216 should be ok tho. We are now talking like maybe a 5rwtq difference when you start getting this technical. But you want all the torque under 2500 YOU can get. Might want to call up TSP or Thunder and see what they spec then come back here. THe low LSA is going to make the power come a little sooner and the powerband tighter, which to you is a good idea.

Yes sir, and the lope I always thought the truck intakes flowed the best for the low-end power and intakes like the ls6 flowed better for the upper rpm's. How true is this? I'm not looking to do a whole lot of mods. Like I said, i/h/e, tune, cam, pushrods and springs, tb converter, and built tranny. I might be towing sometimes on our move to Florida, but will install a large tranny cooler when I rebuild.

Ls6 intake is showing to lower 60' times on the trucks that have done the swap. So im not saying it lacks in the low end department. Yes it flows better up top then the truck intake. The truck intake is designed to create more torque in low rpms.

But it still flows CRAPPY so if you design a cam around that kinda like a "crutch", some on here will call it, you can actually make good torque.

Another option would be to close that gap a little bit in the split. The more I think about it you might want to bring that down a little bit. Maybe a 212/212 or 210/212.

Of all that's Holy, I think I'd be set with 200* 208* / .502" .502 on a 115 LSA. Though I think the LSA is a tad wide I'm comfortable with all else stock with looking for more low end at 7,000ft. This is a Crane Z cam, BTW.
And a tune, of course................

tightening the lsa is a good move if you want more torque, sooner. Idle will suffer, but you'll be increasing the effective compression which might mitigate some of the mpg loss from bumping the idle in the tuning.

I'd go for a 206/21 on 110-112 lsa for the 5.3, especially since you don't spin it up all that much. Go for all low end grunt imo.

You'll end up paying a bit more but I think you'll really like something like the 212/218 with a tb converter. Some of the cams stated are nice, but a .502 lift cam is just too small. I like Modoo's cam for something very mild, but I think you could get away with something a tiny bit bigger like a 210/216 or a 212/218 with a bit higher lift(between .530 and .550)
