Default 90mm or 102mm TB.

I was wondering if a 90mm or 102mm TB fit & give HP, Tq to a 5.3L with a stock intake manifold? Wich would be best to buy? It is for an 05 Z71

Niether will fit a stock 05 intake manifold.

You can buy an adaptor but there is no point because the stock intake is only a 78mm opening. This is one reason why a lot of guys swap to the NNBS/TBSS intakes.

If I change to nnbs I would have to move things around wouldn't I? Like the alternator.

I wouldn't do it on a 5.3
Unless it had a Very radical setup that liked to rev
The stock 78mm intake is plenty for a 5.3/4.8

Alternator will not need to be moved. I suggest buying a BWD CP561 canister purge solenoid. Take your MAP sensor, silicone it up in the top front part of the intake and either drill a hole in your intake tube and get a heater hose fitting or go to AutoZone and get a Spectre air filter part number 3991.

I was looking in to doing this but realized the price wasn't worth the gains or "the loss of lowend", but I have cable TB so I would have had to get the x bar cross over, idk with the 05 electric tb if you will need the x bar/crossover.
