Hmmm. Something must have going on with the HV.. Maybe the oil isn't draining back fast enough? Either way, glad to hear you fixed it.

yea not sure if it just wasnt draining back fast enough or what but i did try adding more oil to find out.. idk but i def like the stock high pressure pump..

High volume pumps are great at ruining oil pressure and foaming plus overheating oil. Found that with a 355 I built a few years ago that went in a circletrack car. Oil got stupid hot and the pressure was crap. Swapped in a stock volume pump and the oil temps dropped and pressure stayed normal.... never will use high volume anything ever again.

I have a moroso blueprinted high volume pump in my 8.1 and have had zero issues. 30lbs at idle hot 40lbs at cruise and 55lbs wot. I almost put a melling hv-77 in and I took one look at it and said no way...had the build quality of a third world country. The melling select style pumps have much nicer fit and finish compared to there standard stuff
