I'm running a gt9 cam in a stock 6.2 and the installer said we need a 7.5 push rods is that common with cams with high lift

 

Why wouldn't the installer check the length with a tool?

 

He did I was just surprised when he told me that the 7.4 was not good the engine is stock except for the cam going in I'm also changing the rocker arms to comp cams new arc gold rocker arms it probably has more to do with the rocker arms

 

What cam are you gonna use?

 

Lingenfelter gt9 cam spec are 215/247 .629/.656 lsa 121

 

I'm surprised to see that length too, but if he checked you gotta believe that's what you need.

I'd also say it must be due to the comp rockers

 

Is your truck at high idle with that cam? If possible can you post a vid
