But to answer your question, it really doesn't matter how aggressive your springs are, they won't wipe a lobe like an old flat tapped cam could. Their is much less friction on a roller lifter, as stated, your pushrods will go before anything.
yes that is what i was thinking, just looking for others to chime in. Now that I think about it, I did over look one important thing. when installing the new cam i will want to check the PTV clearance, this requires taking the head off... so looks like I will have to take the heads off anyways...

<p>You can just spin the motor to make sure it spins freely... no need to pull the head to know exactly how much clearance there is.</p>

I do not like this method and plan on measuring to make sure they actually do fall within a safe distance from the pistons.

Only time it really becomes critical is if youre pushing 7-8000rpm constantly and even then its, as stated previously, typically good if engine turns without contact...but if you plan to measure anyway then yes wait to get your cam and do everything all at once....

I wouldn't bother checking PTV clearances unless you were running one of those mountain cams and even then it would depend on which pistons you have.
