Default 6.0L swap ?

I have a single cab swb 03 silverado with a 4.3L in it. I want to drop a gen3 6.0L and a 4L85-E transmisson into it. How much would it cost me to install all of that and get the truck running if i installed it myself? could i just use the rear end that i already have in my truck or would i need to get a different one. What will i run in the 1/4 with the motor, dual exaust and headers?

the best thing you could do now is read up. pretty much any question you have about the swap can be found by using the search button on this site. when your searching for the 6.0, dont by the first one you come across. look around and be patient. you can find good 6.0's in the 1500 dollar range.

Are you just dropping a non-modded N/A 6.0L in there? If so I don't think you'll need to change your tranny. The 4L60E can handle 400HP +/-. If you plan on modding then the 4L80E makes sense, you know where your getting your tranny?

I have over 500 RWHP with spray, you should be fine with the 60e based trannys.

from a 4.3 to 6.0 swap make sure you get everything even the mounts if posible, make damn sure you get wiring and computer.. its a must have for the 6.0 ... get all you can from the year model the 6.0 came out of, the more you get from it the easier the swap will go ...

What are the major differences of the 4.8l to 6.0l swap? The reason I ask is that I swapped a 5.3l for a 6.0l and it was an 8 hour job. I changed engine block for engine block. Every sensor and mounting holes were the same. Are the 4.8l's that much different?

Thanks,

Richard
