6.0 deal need an answer quick

The LQ4 had some internal upgrades made late in 2004 for the 2005 model year. The only other difference I believe is in the length of the crank on the back of the engine. The earlier model LQ4 will only work with an 80e, where as the newer ones (forget exactly which year) switched so that they could be used with a 60e in a half ton.
My guess is the 1999 and 2000 are this way, and it was updated in 2001 when the LQ4 became available in the Denali half ton trucks and SUV's.

When I did my 370 I got a 99 6.0. As stated above, the crank is longer by about .400". I ended up going with an aftermarket crank so it didnt matter much in the end. I do have to agree that the blocks are worth 3-400. If you can get it for $250 I would say to grab it. Just remember you need to get heads too. Around here 6.0's seem to cost much more.

I recently picked up a 2007 4.8L with a ticking lifter for $200, so you can find good deals out there. The engine looks brand new, but I haven't checked the lifter yet, but the like-new intake gaskets were worth half the price by itself, let alone the 243 heads and intake manifold.
