5.3 Vortec 323-325ci..Need Help
#1
I have a 5.3 Vortec 327 that came out of a 2000 silverado. I have a 1994 GMC Seirra that I want to put the motor in. Does anybody know of any good places to buy performance parts for it or have any tips to make this swap easier.

Just so when you tell people what you have and don't sound stupid, it's not a 327 like the old 60s motors. It's actually a 323-325ci depending on who you ask.
And any of our sponsors on the right can sell you performance parts/tunes/transmissions, etc. There are also a few build/swap threads that deal with OBS to LS conversions.

uh oh... you just called it a 327... put your flame suit on! Lol, people are going to give you **** for that one. But yeah, first start with a tune, then long tube headers, then cam then blower then forged motor then... It never ends once you start so be prepared!

) you should like, everyone is different, and everyone wants different things. When you paint cars, do you paint them all the same way? I doubt it, so do some research and figure out for yourself what path you wanna go down.

I was just joking with you, lol. But in all honesty, ebay is a good place to get stuff for good prices. I would do like a 212 218 cam in it while you have the motor out of the truck, then just put some decent headers on it along with proper tuning and you should be pretty happy with it for a while. The classified section here has alot of good deals in it quite often.

Allrighty then OP, don't get too bent out of shape about the guys' 327 reference comments. We all here, or that would be most of us, appreciate that we do our own leg work for the basics, IE engine geometries and designations being one of those things. Like stated, search is your friend, you wouldn't go into a library and ask the librarian the details of the story, they'd just tell you to go to ailse X and find out for yourself. We're willing to help, but not tell you how we think you should build your rig; it's yours, build it your way. Although, if you really want someone to design it for you I can take Money order or that other 'Pal payment, hint: it's not Pay and it starts with G!
On a serious note, I'd check out BlackBear performance for tuning, Speartech for harness integration, West Coast Cylinder Heads / Scoggin Dickey for engine performance internals, and the list of others to the right for help with the peripherals (externals for those not versed in computer talk).
