Default 5.3 stroker

looking to build a nice street stroker motor.
out of my 5.3. bore it to 4". what would be a good
stroker kit to buy for a NA build ? can i go to 400 or
so cubic in. looking for about 500hp. 243 heads and a
VVT cam from TSP. compression about 10.8-11.5
new style trk int w/90mm T/B. LT headers

You can't go that far with the bore. The best you will likely be able to do is just over a 5.7 bore. You can stroke it to a 383 though.

SDPC has a few 383 short blocks on sale right now of thanksgiving.

Put a 4.100" crank in it with a bore of 3.905" and that would get you to 393 inches.

wonder what would be a good set of heads to put on that aluminum stroker for a forced induction setup. I'm thinking of going with a bigger blower. 65cc will keep compression at 9.5

Ok 5.7 bore it is, I like that 4.100 stroke, should
make good TQ in the mid range.

Ported 243s would be good I bet.

yes, i will have my 243 heads done. adding a set of
pro-flo over size SS valves and titanium retainers
with the new beehive .625 hi lift springs.
forgot to say this is a 2010 LH9 VVT all aluminum 5.3
it is the original motor out of my truck. only 30000 mi.

Is this a iron block or aluminum? I dont think a crank that large would fit in a factory 5.3 iron block without the piston coming out of the bottom of the cylinder.
