Default 5.3 overbore

Hey guys new to the forum, starting to build a 5.3 for my 2000 RCSB. Picked up a complete 5.3 out of an 04 tahoe with high miles, wondering how far I should have it bored. Have searched the forum and haven't really found any definite answers. Just looking for cast pistons with stock CR but wanted to find out if anyone had part #'s for .010, .020 or .030 pistons. Any input is greatly appreciated! Shooting for 400 hp NA and a 100 shot for the track! Plan on getting a t-56 to replace the old tired nv3500 when I get the engine put together. Thanks- Sam

why does it need to be bored? I have never seen one without crosshatch in the cylinder wall.

Cylinder walls are dull, and I dont think a hone will clean it up well enough. What i'm really interested in finding out is if anyone has prices/part #'s on pistons. Looked at summits website and couldnt really come up with anything specifically made for the gen3 small block. Is there anywhere else I should look?

Your not looking in the right spot then.

Sealed power, Keithblack Silv-o-lite, and even Cleavite show up.

On Summit, Search Pistons, and then select 5.3L/325 from the drop down engine size.

IMO, I would buy a 6.0 before I would pay for machine work on a 5.3. If you were building a forged motor it would be a different story.

I know a guy at the machine shop, and I will have about the same in this block after machining as I would a stock running 6.0. I'm all about that junkyard LS build!
