what are the best heads for 5.3l iam just lookin at all my options.

its cool i tryed the search but only came up with 6.0 head questions. nothing really for the 5.3l

You might also want to look up TURBO8. He's running 600hp+ on a stock 5.3L block with a different set of heads. Let me dig through my PM's to see what he had done. But RICHARD@WCCH is the guru of heads for any and all blocks. He's also a sponsor on this site, check him out on the right...---------->

Here's what I found from a previous convo I had with him, maybe it'll help you a bit. Looks like 6.0 heads will work.

thanks i was wondering if 6.0l heads would work. what do you reckon would be a good cam to go with these heads. the truck would also have 3000 stall, and headers, and its a dd.

243's with richards stage 2 job and a 220/220 lsk lobed cam. With a 3000 converter, 4.10 gears, and othe rsmall bolts ons you have an easy 12sec 1/4 truck.

so 243's will work with stock 5.3 bore? LS2 heads are 243's right?
