This is my first post on this site, Im looking for some info on a 5.3 I just bought... im doing a lsx swap in a 72 swb c10. I just purchase the motor last week from a 01 silverado it ran but had 200k+ miles on it.
With that being said I tore the motor down to a short block and would like to freshen the motor up new bearings, hone, maybe 4.8 flat top pistons, cam swap, some mild port and polish on the 706 heads i have on it. Im going to keep efi and plane to get tuned aswell. I have collect alot of information I have a good friend that has alot of knowledge on assembly motors mainly old school sbc bbc motors and this our first LS engine and we want to assemble it.
Im looking for a place close to the north side of Houston to get my machine work done on my block and my heads, and some where that has good knowledge on LS performace...
