Default 5.3 + 853 heads= ??

has anyone done it, what were your results? good idea or bad idea? opinions welcome

Your compression ratio would drop (about 9.8:1 instead of 10.5:1) due to the bigger combustion chamber. But would flow a little better because of the larger intake valve. I'd say it's a good idea if you're looking to turbo of supercharge. Just my thoughts.

thats the plan, but it will just be run on motor with a decent cam for a while (maybe a small shot)

? Stock 5.3 LM7 is 9.5 to 1 It would drop lower

I guess my mistake on the math, thought the 5.3 was a flat top piston.

The 5.3L L33 is a flat top, 9.9 to 1 compression, but they have good heads arlready.

yea they do, but i dont have stock heads, but i happen to have a set of perfect 853's sitting in the garage and a 5.3 there too

hmm, i didnt know that, i'm still learning this motor, thankfully its pretty much an ls1

Is the LM7 a flat top? Because with a 3.779 bore, 3.622 stroke, 61cc chambers and .050 gasket, and 0 on the piston it comes out to 10.48:1. Just trying to get all my facts stright.
