i am swapping a 2005 5.3l for 2003 6.0l. i also have a procharger (p1sc) that i will be swapping also. with that said can someone answer theses questions cause the search button isnt working
1. will the 5.3 computer work on the 6.0.
2. what about the harness and sensors, are they all the same.
3. how about the flywheel, will it mount straight up to the 4l60.
also if someone wants to give me anymore advise about this swap it will be greatly appreciated

I did it on my 04.Wiring is the same,I only needed to take the oil pressure switch from the 5.3L and installed on the 6.0L.
I used a 04 Lq9.The flywheel was the same also.Bolted right up to the 4L60.
You'll need to reflash your ECM for the 6.0L for maximum perfomance.

I too am looking to do a 5.3 to lq9 swap this summer. Maybee someone with the same setup as me can answer these questions. What should I be looking at as far as RWHP and estamated 1/4 mile et, in my rcsb with a stock lq9. What is a good mild cam for the lq9 that will give me some good low end torque. I am looking for something like the tr220 is for the 5.3L. So an LQ9 will bolt straight up to the stock 4l60e I have with any modification right? Any help is appreciated

these questions are asked like twice a week. The only difference in the engines is the litres. outside they are all the same. just take one out and put the other in. You'll just want to retune the computer to compensate for the larger bore/stroke. You can flash it at any dyno shop or thru one of our sponsors on the right, Even a dealership if they are willing.
If you do an advanced search for the word SWAP and display your results by replies there is tons of information on this.

update. the 6.0 i got was from a hd1500 model. the flexplate had 6 bolt holes in it. my trucks torque converter has 3 so i had to take the plate and its spacer off for it to work. got everything else in and bolting up the procharger today.

If it'll help answer a few questions right away it saves him some time from having to wait for a reply. Any other questions or anything he didnt see just ask, i wasn't trying to be rude.
As for your LQ9 you should be good to go unless you bolt it up to a 4L80e. I believe you'll need a crank spacer to move the flexplate out a lil further to bolt to a 4l80e.
Other than that you guys should be good to go. Assuming you don't run into any unforeseen problems you should be able to do the swap in 2 days or less depending on your experience.
Hope that helps.

If he's only taking out the 5.3 and putting in the 6.0 . . . the only non-interchangeable parts are the pistons/rings
They have the same internals, the only differences is are the bores and the combustion chambers on the heads. That's it . . . nothing else.
Everything swaps over, there are no "extra" parts that are needed.
