Default 408 Question?

I've been looking to stroke my block to a 408 and was doing some searching and found this on ebay here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...135258139&rd=1
Question is should I just build my own stroker or just get this one and call it a day?
I plan on running with a 10.6 Compression ratios for NA now. Might get a procharger F1C with a TPIS Modified LS6 for 90mm in the future with some 72CC heads darts 225 or AFR's also what injetors should I run what would you guys recommend?
Thanks

If you are going with an F1, you definitely don't want 10.6:1. You'd want 9.5:1 or 9:1 so you can crank the boost.

The price on that short block isn't anything to write home about -- nothing crazy or out of line, but you can get that price every day of the week IMO. I'd talk to a reputable shop with a national reputation -- like our sponsors: WCCH, W2W, SDPC, etc.

Yeah, definitely lower compression...408 w/ F1 is a good choice...

I was looking at them too. But for $100 more you can get one from Texas Speed and you don't have to worry about it.

I think he's saying that he can get about 10.6 compression with a small chambered head, and then switch to a bigger chambered head to bring it down for FI. I pretty much did the same thing when i built mine. I agree though that it would be worth a hundred extra to go with a reputable company such as one of the sponsors.

Thanks adam for clearing that up. I think i'll go with Texas speed. How about cam choice should I just stick with the cam in my sig?

Im not a cam guru so i can't say anything much about your cam. But i know i've seen some good results over on tech with some fairly small cams in 408s. Since you already have it its worth a shot.

If you're going FI I would go a little smaller. I'm happy with the one in my sig. Idles almost like stock, low overlap, high vacuum.

I like the cam I have made 316 WRHP 322 RWTQ with it last week on a dyno.
That's with the specs in my sig.
It's a stroker, FI cam I think it should work fine with a good 3k stall might try a different set up in the future.

What about an intake setup should I get the TPIS LS6 intake or run a carbstyle intake?
One of my friends has a CNC shop and can hook me up with a sheetmetal one that will fit truck engines without any issues. What do you guys think?
