If you are going to try to make any power out of these small motors you need to go FI. but there is a guy on here, Thunder01, that is making good power with a 4.8 naturally asperated. You will want to get a tune and run 93 octane.

as far as heads go... you cant really get larger heads for these motors bc of compression problems with the small motor... however, you can port and polish your heads if you know of a good engine/machine shop. As far as cams go.. if your looking for this to be a good daily driver as more of a street truck dont go with a cam of my size or 01thunder's size (tr224/224 .563/.563 114 or 112lsa)... its just too big if your looking for resonable fuel economy AND performance. But if you dont care like me than go with that cam, find a good tuner (preferably dyno tuner), and get a stall of around 3200-3500 range (fuddle racing stall is what im switching to soon) and that will put you in the 13's w/ weight reduction. If you have any specific questions PM me or 01thunder on the topic. Hope this helps
