Dude that is about max for a 4.8, i think 1 person said he had 325 with one, but most you read about have around 300. Buy 8altngs motor and spray the crap out of it.... thats the only way you will get you power level on what you wanna spend!!!

Few comments on posts I've seen in this thread:
- you don't need forged pistons for a 150 shot on an LS1. That's the commonly accepted biggest safe shot for stock pistons. IF you go higher, then you need forged ones.
- as I'm an f-body guy coming to the truck world, I can tell you that the commonly accepted limit for the LS1/LS6 stock crank is approximately 1000hp. Although I've never heard of one failing. But we generally don't change unless we need different stroke length, or are making over 1000hp.
