4.8 cam swap
#11
well i have a 2002 silverado 4.8 and a t/a and was wanting to put a cam and a few extra goodies on as well but my question is what are the pushrod lengths? and i was wanting to run a tsp 233/239 cam i think its a 603/599 lift or close to, and is that over kill for my 4.8
By the way that cam you selected, LS1nut377, is a 2800-8640 camshaft.
You are a rare breed sir. My personal suggestion, stick true to your opinions and even though most on here will bash you for holding firm on a small camshaft just hunker down and take the abuse. There's perhaps 3 of us now who know that camshafts aren't wiggle sticks to be turned at such a high RPM where a Genie comes out to grant unlimited horsepower. That 210/218 cam you've hinted at will most likely make a torque monster out of your 6.0L, so good choice. Just depends on how aggressive the lobes are and the separation angle.

210/218 .551/.551 112 LSA 52* overlap
I just want a ton of torque and throttle response down low because that's where I drive. And I think that cam will still have a better top end than stock if I do decide to go WOT. I plan on using a trailblazer stall and adding 4.10 gears (from 3.42)

the truck intakes suck at high rpms..usually top out around 6300-6500 rpm..besides the heads will not flow what that cam can put out..buy a fast intake and some heads and shift it at 8k
