Yup that is correct the 4.8 tune will even work but you will need a custom tune to get the most out of it.

The cam would work too, but the 6.0 cam is bigger.

But you don't want stock heads/cam when you are going to all that trouble. As long as everything is torn up/down you gotta put on some Darts and a cam or something. You can't trust a salvage yd 6.0 so if you're gunna clean it up with an overbore and you gotta buy new pistons you might as well do the stroker. Right??? Then if you're gunna do all that you might as well have bought a new 402 aluminum ls2 short block and now you're ready to put on some nice heads and cam. It's never enough. $8k goes quick!!

Default 4.8 to 6.0

I am doing the same swap, I have a 2000 silverado, ext.cab. with a 4.8 and 4l60 trans, I have bought a 6.0 block, having it bored out to 0.30 over and installing a complete EAGLE 4340 forged rotating assembly. I have not purchased my heads or cam yet, I was going to see if anyone had any input on what heads and cam I should go with. I have a 4l80e trans that I purchsed from a salvage yard, I sent it too my tranny guy to go through it and make sure it was in good shape, I installed a trans-go shift kit in it as well, all except for the cross member, driveshaft, and harness, I think it is ready to be installed. so back to the block, I am waiting for the rotating assembly to come in, so until then, I will be here listening to suggestions....

I am goign to the same way I jsut tore down the 6L block last night the rotating assembly, DART heads, cam, cometic head gaskets, arp bolts and jesel rockers will all be ordered this friday. 6.0 modified what kind of performance are you looking for out of your truck pm if you want my advice. I have been researching all this stuff heavily for about the last month and a half.

TreyZ28 you could get an lq9 but it wont be nearly the performance you could get out of a cheap shortblock with a cleanup hone, decent set of heads and cam. Alot mroe bang for your buck but alot more work too.
