Looked like the inside of a chimney in the exhaust ports...pistons were soot covered but OK...rings were washed and bearings as well...after looking at the pistons again the skirt looks aweful short and the bottom ring is well into the wristpins. Builder says that if I was running a 4 barrel and doing 1/4 mile runs they'd be great, but maybe too much slop for a blown motor. Prob is that the rod length will prob determine that I'll need custom pistons ($800ish), and I already gotta buy rings and bearings ($400?), so I'm debating just going ahead with the eagle 408 kit for $2625 and I can sell my rods (eagle 6.250) and crank (Eagle stock 6.0L) maybe get $1000-1200? This is worse than my money pit home reno I did 10yrs ago! If my wife ever adds all this up she's gonna make me buy her a bigger house or a new kitchen or something!

If I go 408 what about the fuel system? Will my 60# keep up? I have Walbro in tank, KB BAP and racing style press fuel system...

Grippy, spoke to Richard a few times and Rex as well - not in past few days tho. Gonna do a little homework before makin a final decision and prob speak with Richard again. So far I only spoke with JE and Eagle. As the bore I have now is 4.005 (Diamond) and the pistons required a 6.250 rod length the prob is it seems nobody makes anything that will fit. There's no actual damage to the piston, but the short skirt was always something I wasn't happy with. R/
PS: when u gonna be running?

Ordered new rods and pistons...I told him to buy what he was most comfortable working with so that means Eagle Rods, prob JE or Probe pistons and whatever rings either recommends...I suggested the A&C's...its movin at a snails pace!
