Some say its like 8.2:1, I believe it's like 8.7:1. When I am not in boost It doesn't have alot of torque. That is probably why I am having launching issues. Its great in boost though. LOL! Its a stock 5.3 with stock 317 heads (3 angle valve job), stock GM gasket, 02' Z06 cam.

i dont want to do a stroker ive thought and thought more about it, and im just not wanting to do it . i kow its not more expensive but id like an almost stock cu inches motor that can handle some power. besides im not looking to upgrade my 65e to an 80e .so thats the main reason stopping me. but thanks for the advice im going to start on this build in early october.

This is just my 2 pennies, but I would bore the 6.0 0.030 over, put some nice forged pistons in it, use stock 4.8L rods with upgraded bolts and the stock crank. That way you could have a long 370 that would be able to handle some boost. This is the direction I'm going when the 4.8 gives up the ghost.

We're talking 700+ hp!!
