I have a new ? As I was disassembling last night, I noticed that each rocker arm is labeled different. Does it really matter where each one goes? I recorded each's location so if need be I can put them back where they go. Also, before I started this i was told that I needed to change lifter no matter what? But when I pulled the stock ones out they appeared to be in "new" condition. My motor only has 87,000 on the clock. Well I am goin back to work, so if anyone knows the answer, please feel free to let me know, and thanks ahead of time.

no not really a need to replace the lifers unless they are ticking. the rocker arms should sit in the stand all in place, but i would make sure they go back in the same spot because of wear characteristics on the top of the valves

Check the lifters yourself. Push the plunger in with the tip of a pushrod on each of them to make sure everything still works. Compare one against all the others to feel how hard/soft you need to push to make the plunger go down, and to spin the roller tip on the end. If all check out, put them in a little bag and reuse them.
Any part of the valve train that you reuse it's a good idea to label where things came from and put them right back. I follow this rule to an extent, but ended up bolting on different lifters than what I took off during my mostly-stock rebuild so take the "rule" as a word of advice to avoid mix ups during the rebuild.
