Those rockers are the same ratio as stock anyway, so they don't net any horsepower gains at all.

These are the guys I would talk to. They don't list all their cams on the website, but I bet if they have figured out DoD and VVT together, they have something for DoD alone.

I was tempted to create a DoD/VVT 6.2 for my truck with one of these type cams....

All this LS crap costs alot. Think about it. A Smallblock Chevy cam kit from Lunati costs $115 with lifters. The Bare Bones kit. Headders are $100 for a GM truck, Edelbrock intake $125, valve covers are $25 NEW AND CHROME!!! and so on. I dig the power my 5.3 makes but damn, I could have built a KILLER smallblock Chevy that makes more power for what I have spent on hot rodding my truck. So the point is, everything on a LS motor costs alot. Whats another $200?

You do have a point, but you are comparing a late model engine to an engine that was made in the 60s. And that being said everyone and their mother has SBC parts, so naturally the prices will be cheaper. Plus you pay for technology, LS motors are a bit more advanced than SBCs. Same case with the aftermarket DOD cam vs a regular aftermarket cam.. Way i see it, if im going to do a cam swap, im going to get rid of that DOD crap and use a $375 cam

The DOD delete is 300 bucks add that to what you wanna do as far as cam and its still cheaper than that DOD cam listed above! It is definately waaaay cool though, first I have ever heard of such...

if you are going to pull the heads off of the truck, I would rather run ARP head bolts vs the TTY stock bolts

It's been around since the 50's. It has the same tech as the LS motors. OHV. The DOD and crap is computer stuff. The LS motor has been around 14 years already. Just wish the aftermarket would see it for what a it is. A SBC. Now make parts cheaper already!!
