Default 2003 Silverado Oil Pan Replacement

I just got a call from my dad. He cracked the pan on his Silverado when he was trying to jack up the truck. (damn, he knows better than that!)

Anyways, now it will be up to me to fix it.

It's a 5.3L. I have not been over to look at it yet. Will I be able to replace the pan without pulling the engine?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

i dont think you have the room but id look. you can probably unbolt the intake/exhaust/motor mounts and lift the motor up enough. on the gmt900s they have a bracket that can be unbolted to remove the oil pan.

The crossmember under the engine can be unbolted. If I remember correctly, it allows you to take the oil pan off.

If its 4wd you will have to take the front diff out, if its 2wd it shouldnt be big job to swap the pan.

You don't have to take the front diff out, just unbolt it and lower it if its a 4wd/awd. Make sure you replace the oil cooler lines gasket too even if it looks reusable
