Question 2003 5.3 mods

I have a 2003 silverado with a 5.3 equiped with a powerdyne supercharger, I'm looking to know what i could do for mods to the motor. I just bought the truck and now it melted a hole in #7 piston, so i want to get the truck up and going, and make it a lil better at the same time!

upgrade your fuel system and have the tune looked at, so it doesnt lean out and melt pistons again....

whats your budget? you could get another 5.3 motor and swap it out....

Get a 6.0 and put the powerdyne on it Custom tune is always a solid decision.

get the 6.0 instead, you can find one for under 1800. in fact you can get a cam too for that price

+1 for that, and the accessories from the 5.3 will fit the 6.0. There are a number of threads on here about 6.0 swaps, and you'll be happier with a cammed 6.0 than a rebuilt stock 5.3 for the same $$$.

Yeah, but can he also get the new transmission that he'd be needing REAL soon?
