Hello! I recently purchased the Texas Speed and Performance 5.3L chop monster camshaft aswell as their .660 dual spring kit, but completely overlooked pushrods! I've heard 7.4 thrown around as the stock length, but I'm sure these upgrades are going to change that number. I can get a pushrod length checker and check it myself if I need to. The problem I'm running into is that the vehicle is my current daily driver and I'd rather not have my daily driver out of commission for a month!

 

What size engine is that huge 233/240 .629 .600" 108 lsa camshaft going into... if it's a little 5.3 life is going to suck being a daily driver. That cam is actually to big for for a 6.0 daily without a huge torque converter, ported heads, upgraded injectors, 1-7/8" headers with free flowing duals and a lot of rear gear.

It's good practice using a pushrod checker but if you're going in blind 7.4 would be a good start. The lifter type, smaller camshaft base circle (over .600" lift), milled heads, head gasket thickness will change the final pushrod length.

If you're using LS7 lifters this video will help you using the "turn method" to check for proper length. If you buy your pushrods from Summit they send a free return shipping label so you can exchange for a longer/shorter set... if the turn method shows you're out of spec.
