Default pushrod length

i just bought a tr224 and will be getting some 706s and having them milled .030" what length pushrods do i need? from what i have read i need 7.4, is that right?

these are 7.325 i believe, will they work?

I pity da foo' who don't properly check his pushrod length!!! Seriously, get a pushrod length checker. It takes 5 minutes to check everything after the new cam is installed.

but how do i know what size i should have? this is my DD and i cant have it down for more than a weekend

Any local engine shop or speed shop should have a plethora of pushrods on hand.......

Pushrod length checker is like 12 bucks, and I believe that there are instructions on how to use it on Comp's site. Definitely worth it to hitch a ride for a few days if you have to to make sure that you have the correct length pushrods. Most aftermarket cams with un-milled heads call for 7.4 length pushrods from the cam manufacturer, as the math has already been done, but once you start milling heads and stuff like that, it's best to take your own measurements
